Just for your own good. Whether or not your office gives you so much leave, it is downright unprofessional of you to ask for so much leave. Been following your blog for a while. I just believe that if you want to establish yourself as a credible person in the field, try to be more dedicated.

ReplyDeleteI must say I was expecting a comment of this nature, since when i judge my own post as disinterested reader, i find it prseumptuous. But you must appreciate that this was written specifically with somebody in mind (my former boss who first misquoted me deliberately to the top man of my then organisation, telling him I had asked for 10 day leave after one week of joining, when in fact I had asked for 4 day leave well after two months of joining, and who, kept using this fabricated quote to pull me down at every juncture, trying to bring me bad repute at will and before virtually every other person, even suggesting to me with whacky conviction that if i ever asked for leave to my future bosses, that would be the end of job there), for whom a presumptuous tone, i believe was necessary, indeed to suit my yearning for reprisal.
ReplyDeleteSecond, had it not been for my own peace of mind, in response to certain times that you may never would understand, and i pray nobody ever should, where it is essential for me to give myself breaks rather than break down. But it's not that im making this any exuse to shirk work. It was in fact in awareness of this, and in analytical evaluation of this situation, that i opted out of a newspaper industry (despite being offered to exclusively cover a chief minister, from world's largest selling newspaper) and settled in a magazine industry, where long holidays, sometimes even in not so long intervals, is not harshly judged, work requirements remaining unaffected still...on the contrary, if i were unprofessional, id have, despite my position and circumstances, accepted the said newspaper offer and then kept pestering them for leaves, a brand, between, still adorning my cv..
As per dedication, only last week when 3 of 4 desk persons were on holiday, i volunteered and did three people's work alone, staying back till 5:30 the next morning..though being a correspondent i was under NO obligation whatsoever to shoulder such responsibility..in fact even the editor went away after midnight, authorising me in good faith to sign the pages on his behalf..
Anyway, im not antagonised by your coment..neither do i judge them harshly... i am an objective person, and assess things not by what may suit my purpose.. if that were so, i wudnt have published ur comment at the first place.. anyway, good of you to write to me.. and thanks for the visits....
